What did you think was going to happen as a result of winning Player of the Season?  And how did the reality differ (At the award giving)?

I had no expectations for the award ceremony as it’s not something I ever imagined I’d be a part of. So, for all, I knew it could have been a formal or informal event. The reality was I watched the first half of a cup final and was awarded my medal on the pitch at half-time. It was a very proud moment to have my family and my coaches alongside me. All nerves soon dissipated, and I relished at that moment. I feel extremely blessed.

What tips would you give other players in a similar position to yours?

Tips: work hard, stay consistent and sometimes, surprisingly, hard work does pay off! You’ve got to have a fire in your belly and play with passion. Play like you’ve never lost! But always remember it’s team-work, you need a solid team to move forward and progress.

Anything else you want to say?

For someone who never had an interest in football growing up, it is now a huge part of my life. I look forward to training and I’m hard on myself because I want to be the best that I can be. I’m not competing to be better than others, only better than I was yesterday.  But above all remain humble. It’s important people know that I’ve only been playing for just over a year. Which goes to show that anything is possible if you dedicated.
